John Homer Hart

John Homer Hart was born on September 29, 1842 in Ravenna, Portage, Ohio.  He was the second of four children born to Homer W. Hart and Mary Baker Knowlton Hart.

John Homer Hart and his uncle, John M. Hart, were business partners.  They owned the J. M. & J. H. Hart Furniture Store in Kent, Ohio.  Apparently, the building is still standing although it is no longer a furniture store.

John Homer Hart was married twice; first, in Ohio, in 1870, to Francelia L. Sawyer.  She was the daughter of Henry Sawyer and Susan Hall.  John Homer Hart and Francelia had one son, Frederick Henry Hart.  Francelia died on June 27, 1889 in Franklin, Portage, Ohio.

After Francelia died, John Homer Hart married Cora B. Wadsworth on September 15, 1896 in Ravenna, Portage, Ohio.  Cora was the daughter of William Wadsworth and Elizabeth King.  She was born in August of 1859 in Ohio.

John Homer Hart died on February 2, 1916, in Ravenna, Portage County, Ohio.  He is buried in the Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, Portage County, Ohio.
