ALLEN A. McINTYRE ? - 1952 Husband of Olive EVENING TIMES GLOBE JUNE 10, 1952 Many throughout the Maritime Provinces will learn with regret of the death of Allen A. McIntyre, which occurred at his residence in Hampton this morning. He had been in failing health for the last year. Mr. McIntyre was well known through the Maritime Provinces. He was a Manufacture’s Agent for many years. Born in Saint John he was a son of the late Capt. Peter McIntyre and Ada (Titus) McIntyre. Mr. McIntyre graduated from the Saint John high school and attended Acadian University where he received his B. A. in 1905 and his M.A. in 1907 being the youngest student to ever receive the M.A. Degree from Acadia. He was active in all athletic activities during his college years. For many years he was associated with his father the late Capt. Peter McIntyre in ship building and in carrying on a grocery business in the North end of the city. He was an active member of Main Street Baptist church prior to moving to Hampton in 1925, where he has since made his home. He was a member of the Union club Saint John, and the Hampton Station United Baptist church. He is survived by his wife the former Grace D. Keirstead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.V. Keirstad of Hampton, formerly of Saint John and Montreal, one son C. Bayard, of the Meteorological Branch of the Department of Transport, Greenwood N.S. one daughter (Audrey), Mrs. Hugh C. MacKay of Stoney Creek, Ont. Three Grandchildren: Peter and David McIntyre and Wendy Jane Mac Kay. His first wife, the former Olive M. Hartt of Fredericton Junction, N.B. predeceased him in 1942 The funeral will be held from the residence Hampton Station Thursday, June 12, at 3 P.M. with interment in the family plot at Fern hill Cemetery.
