The death of Mrs. Olive Maude McIntyre, wife of Allen A. McIntyre occurred at her home in Hampton yesterday afternoon. Mrs. McIntyre had been in failing health for several years but death came unexpectedly.
She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Wellington Hartt of Fredericton Junction, where she was born January 10, 1890. She was educated at Fredericton Junction and later attended the provincial Normal School and was for several years on the teaching staffs of Saint John Schools. She also attended Acadia Seminary from which she graduated in the Department of Household Economics.
Mrs. McIntyre was married in 1914 and resided in Saint John until 1923 when she moved to Hampton where she had since resided. She was a member of the Baptist church and took an active part in the work of the church, being prominently associated with the Women’s Missionary Union.
Besides her husband she is survived by two children, Charles Bayard, Meteorologist with the Department of Transport at Moncton, and Miss Audrey Roberts, a member of the staff of Winter Street School, three sisters, Adeline of Trail, B. C., Zelda of Saint John and Lottie of California; two brothers, Thomas of Fredericton Junction and George of Vancouver.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon from the Hampton Station United Baptist Church with the service at 2 o’clock. Interment will take place in the Fern hill Cemetery St. John NB
