|Mary Ann was first married to L. Slipp and her second marriage was to James E Mitchell in the fall of 1867.
Mary Ann was a schoolmistress. It is believed she first
taught private pupils at her parentsí home, and it is
known that at least as early as 1855 she was mistress of
The Little Blue School. This school was conducted in a
one and a half story building, painted blue, located
beside a small brook a short distance from the right
bank of the river. James was a farmer.
