Mrs. Helen Vivian Gilchrist, beloved wife of Mr. Ronald Gilchrist of Calgary, passed away in the Tom Baker Cancer Center February 4, 1985. Besides her beloved husband, two daughters, Bev and her husband Neville Anderson of Calgary and Cheryl Lynn Gonzales of Denver, Colorado; four grandchildren and one sister Alice Rose of Calgary survive Mrs. Gilchrist. Her parents predeceased Mrs. Gilchrist in 1928. She was born in Lowell, Mass. She came to Alberta with her parents at a young age and finished her high school at Hanna, Alberta. She attended Normal School in Calgary and graduated in 1929. Mrs. Gilchrist taught several years in the Empress-Hanna area and later moved to Calgary where she raised her family and later taught at various schools in the City. She completed her teaching career in the Mount View Elementary School. Mrs. Gilchrist was a member of the Alberta Retired Teachers Association and Pleasant Heights United Church. Funeral services will be held in the Pleasant Heights United Church on Thursday, February 7, 1985 at l:00 P.M., with the Rev. George LeDrew officiating. Interment to follow in the Queenís Park Cemetery, Calgary, AB.
