Dorothy was the daughter of George and Bessie M. (Wilson) Hart. She was born January 15,1900. She graduated from the University of Maine in Orono, she taught for 2 years in Winn, almost a frontier town in Maine. Then applying thru a teacherís agency in Boston, was accepted to teach at Woodstock High School in Woodstock, Maine. (1923-1973.) She taught History and Math until 1961, then supervised the study hall until 1973. Three generations of Dorothyís students crowed the Universalist church in Woodstock Vermont in Honour of Dorothy. She is remembered as demanding and fair, with a sense of humor and made History lessons come alive She married Clement Cook a Woodstock Banker, Woodstock VT. Following his death from heart failure in 1931, she taught school full time and also rented rooms to tourists or out of town students to supplement her teacherís salary. She had a 3 yr old son, Richard, to raise on her own. In her retirement she worked a couple days a week as a guide at the Historical Societyís Dana House in Woodstock. Dorothy Cook passed away in 1993
