|Frederick Henry Hart was born June 12, 1873, in Kent, Portage County, OH, the oldest and only surviving child of
John Homer and Francelia (Sawyer) Hart.
From the Wisconsin Mirror newspaper article of 1897,
in re the marriage of
“He is a young man of an excellent family and has
been in Railroad employ. He spent the last year in
Kilbourn (WI) uniting with the Presbyterian church
here recently, and has made friends of those with
whom he became intimately acquainted. The young
couple will remain at Major Schofield’s during the
summer, and will be afforded evidence of the esteem
of the community in their new relations.”
Fred moved many times in his pursuit of railroading.
There is evidence of his being in Arizona, Long Beach,
CA, Oroville, CA and Oakland, CA., to name but a
few. He married Hallie Miriam Schofield March 31,
1897, in Kibourn, Columbia County, Wisconsin. She
was born Sep. 3, 1873, in Chicago, Cook County, IL,
and died Aug. 10, 1951 in Calistoga, Napa County,
Just as his Mother had died of cancer, when he was
only 16 years old, so did he die of cancer before he
could meet his son’s future wife. He died in 1919 in
Oakland, Alameda County, CA, and is buried in the
Mt. View Cemetery in Oakland, CA.
