1926 - 2016 Bathurst - Garfield Wood, 90, formerly of Centennial St., Bathurst, passed away on Saturday August 27, 2016 at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de- Lourdes, Bathurst. Born in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Richard and Katherine (Bastian) Wood. Garfield served in World War II the Royal Canadian Navy in Canada and overseas, member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst, member of Lodge St. John, No. 27, F&AM of the Masonic Order, Bathurst. He worked as an Inspector for the Province of New Brunswick until his retirement. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (Duguay) Wood of Bathurst and two sons: Wayne Wood (Medeleine Buck) of Montreal, QC and Brian Wood (Sheila Callen) of Chilliwack, BC. Four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Sunday, September 4, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Monday September 5, 2016 at 11 a.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel. Donations in memory of Garfield may be made to the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Foundation or a favorite charity.
