David Wellington Hartt was a son of Thomas & Adeline Hartt. He married Charlotte Amanda Adams (1860-1904) of Lincoln, May 5, 1881 He was principal of Mount Bleak Academy. Hartt General Store was registered in his name. David W. was among the first counselors of the Parish of Gladstone. Before the Parish was formed David Hartt was a county councilor the years of 1857, 1858, When the Parish of Gladstone was established November 4, 1874. David was a parish clerk with Thomas Alexander. They were Free Christian Baptists. The three daughters were schoolteachers. They are both buried in the Gladstone cemetery.
