REEDER, Erma E. V. - August 23, 1929 - August 1, 2014 Erma Eileen Victoria was born August 23, 1929, in Fairy Glen, Saskatchewan to Mary and Victor Person. She attended School in Fairy Glen. Erma married Lloyd George Reeder, June 19, 1950. Together they raised four children. Pam, Keith, Rena and Becky. Family was always very important to them. It was an open door policy at our house! We all knew that we could stop by for lunch anytime. The grandchildren enjoyed this very much, and took advantage of the time to visit Grandma and Grandpa and enjoy good company. Erma was active in sports and played on a ball team as a young woman. In her ball playing years she caught the watchful eye of dad and the rest is history. This competitive spirit lead Mom to go onto golfing, bowling, curling and even took swimming lessons later on in life. Her passion was golf and she entered many tournaments and won many trophies. Her biggest accomplishment was a hole in one. She always was a leader and did her very best to achieve success. She also was an avid bridge player. Mom played Bridge with an active "Bridge Club" and looked forward to every game! When we were young, Mom was very active in the Presbyterian Church and she led the CGIT girls group, sang in the choir, and right up until the end of Dec 2013, she attended Bible Study regularly. Mom was a homemaker, and took her job very seriously! She home schooled us on baking cookies, preparing meals and even bread making. Crocheting, knitting, sewing & quilting was passed on to the children, grandchildren as well as the great grandchildren! Not all of us are proficient in these skills, but we each did have at least one or two of them. Camping was the family pastime. We always enjoyed camping in one of many trailers Dad purchased. We enjoyed boating with friends and spent many wonderful summers at Waskesiu camping and taking swimming lessons. We all enjoy camping, fishing, and boating to this day. Mom was an active supportive Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, even babysitting the great grandchildren overnight whenever she was needed. She never said no to any of the family if they needed something. Mom was predeceased by her parents Mary and Victor Person, an infant son Stephen in 1962, Rena in 1992 her brother Ron and her sister Muriel. Dad passed away just 4 months ago April 5, 2014. Erma leaves to mourn, her children Pam (Larry) Alexis (Josh), Natalie (Francis) Abigail, her son, Keith (Karen) Jason (Melanie) Logan, Raina, and Brenna. Jeff (Natalie), Jared, Treyton and Mackenzie; her daughter Becky (Jack), Brian (Jodi) Thorin, Terek and Corrie; Steven ( Stephanie), Triston, Brodie, Cassie, and Ollie; and Jodi(Kevin) Jack & Cecilia. Mom has two surviving sisters, Gladys and Rowena. Service of remembrance was held at St. James Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Dave MacPherson officiating. Interment followed at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial contributions, in memory of Erma, may be directed to North Central Health District Foundation designated to Melfort Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
