SCRIBNER, Arthur D. “Don” - 73 of Dartmouth, NS, passed away on August 6, 2001 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Chipman, NB, he was the son of Arthur and Ada (Fidler) Scribner. Occupations included bricklayer, fireman for CP Railroad and a building inspector at CMHC, PEI Housing Authority and MICC. He also worked with Trans Canada Truss, Scribner Truss Systems, the UFFI Removal program, and Consumer and Corporate Affairs. Don enjoyed music and was formerly a piper with the Farquharson Pipe and Drum Band. He is survived by his wife, the former Eunice R. Redstone; daughters, Nancy B. Anderson, Karrie L. Scribner; sons, A. Donald (Mavis) Scribner, Tim (Shelley) Scribner, all of Dartmouth; sister, Elizabeth “Wiz” Burgess, Saskatoon; grandchildren, Andrew, Lauren, Nason, and Stephanie. He was predeceased by his sister Mary W. Gray. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with the funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, all in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, Rev. David LeBlanc officiating. Burial will be in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, with a reception to follow in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
