Wesley was born 1844 in Rusagonis, NB to John(1811-1862) and Elizabeth Sinclair (1814-1904)Nason. Wesley married Caroline Celia (Carrie)Smith. June 17, 1875 in Tracy, NB. She was the daughter of Elizabeth and David H. Smith, a granddaughter of Pioneer Thomas. Wesley was a physically strong man and a hard worker. His farm prospered, as did his lumbering operations. He was prominent in affairs of his church and municipality, representing Gladstone Parish on the Sunbury County Council, 1891-1899, 1902, and 1903. He was also one of the chief promoters of the Oromocto Coal Mining Company. Carrie died in 1885 and Wes married Hattie Smith.(Carrie’s double cousin as their parents were brothers and sisters to each other.) Wes died April 15, 1903 and Hattie Smith married Wesley’s brother Parker Nason and had three more children, Margaret, Louis and Hollis. It gets a bit complicated. Aunt Margaret used to say, “I’m my own grandpa.” Her aunts were her sisters and her cousins at the same time. Children of Carrie (Smith) & Wesley Nason: Parker 1874-1967, Pennell 1876-1942, David S. 1880-1881, Helen 1878-1957.
