George Albert was born 1874 to Rev. Aaron & Helen Libby. He went by Albert or Bertie. He went to Boston University then later went to Cobb Seminary in Lewiston, Maine. He met his future wife, Laura Beals, while he was at the seminary. She was a teacher in Aroostook County. They were married Dec. 26, 1900. Rev. Albert served four churches in Maine over the next eight years. Sangerville, Smyrna Mills, Presque Isle and Rockport. In 1908, Rev. Hartt moved to South Dakota where he served many churches around the State until his retirement. He served as a first lieutenant chaplain in the South Dakota National Guard in Europe in World War 1. He was dearly loved and respected. His wife received a letter saying how much his chaplain work was appreciated.
