Mamie was born in 1886 in Hartland, NB to Newton Henry and Addie (Way) Hartt. At five years of age, she went to Montana for a few years with her family and then moved in 1904 to the North West Territories, before Alberta became a province in 1905. Mamie married Alexander (Sandy) Moyes on April 10, 1907 at High River, Alberta. Alex emigrated from Scotland about 1903-04 to Southern Alberta. They later lived in Red Deer, Alberta. Alex died on April 19, 1922 from a ruptured appendix. After Alex died, Mamie married Audrey Duclos and they lived in Edmonton. She was head sales-lady for Johnstone and Walkers, a fashion store, in Edmonton, in the 1930s. She did a lot of work on the Hartt family tree. Mamie died in June of 1967. Mamie and Audrey are buried in the Municipal Cemetery in Edmonton. Alex and Mamie had three children: Zelma, 1908-1999; Phyllis, 1911-1995; and Ted, 1912-1931.
