Helen L. Lockhart was a daughter of Theodosia and Charles Lockhart born January 26, 1887, in Carleton County, New Brunswick. She got her teaching certificate when she attended Mount Allison Ladies College at Sackville, New Brunswick. She married Johnson Wilmont Clark September 24, 1913 in St. John, NB. He was born in Duisberg, Tennessee. He died December 28, 1978 in Calgary and was buried there. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Vancouver, British Columbia. She was a valued member of the public school teaching staff in Vancouver area, and a member of the Vancouver First Baptist Church. The joy of her life was the birth of their only child, John Berton Clark (1920-1999.) In 1928, they went to St. John, N.B. for an extended period of time before coming back to Vancouver. Helen spent the rest of her days in Vancouver, until her untimely death from diabetes and heart complications at the young age of 59. She passed away September 12, 1946 and is buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Vancouver. B.C. Canada. It was a very sad time for her father who was 92 years of age and unable to go to the funeral service from St. John, New Brunswick. Helen's sister, Alice, made the long journey West to represent her father Charles Berton Lockhart. Child: John Berton Clark 1920-1999
