Odber R. Hartt was born in Wichita Falls on February 3, 1920 to Odber Ray & Dorothy (Beaver) Hartt. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from A & M University. He had lived in Abilene since 1954. He retired from West Texas Utilities after a 33-year career as an air conditioning engineer. He married Joan Logan in Wichita Falls, on Feb 11, 1950. He served as Captain in the Corps of Engineers while in the military, serving in North Africa, Italy, Philippines and Japan. He was an ordained Elder and Deacon of the First Central Presbyterian Church. Ray was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Texas Society of Professional Engineeres, and the Abilene Exchange Club where he served as president. He was a member if the Advisory committee for construction of the headquarters for Meals and Wheels. Step son Robert Lee was given the Hartt surname. Odber and Joan adopted a daughter called Ann Lee.
