Thomas Cornelius Winbourn was born: Sep 13, 1851 Gurleyville, Madison Co, Al.He was the son of William Grant & Mary (Wisdom)Winbourn. His spouse was Emma Jane Jackson born 17 OCT 1853 in Petersburg, Dinwiddie Co., Virginia They were married Nov 10, 1874 Weld Co, CO. Thomas came to Colorado with his parents in 1863, the family home being established on the Platte river at Fort Lupton. The mother came to this state when a young maiden, in 1872, the Jackson home being established in connection with the Green City colony. Her father took up land and devoted his attention to ranching and to the raising of horses. Thomas C. Winbourn also devoted his attention to ranching and live stock interests and was thus busily and actively engaged until about 1908, when he retired and now resides at Fort Lupton, Colorado. He has been a very prominent and influential citizen of his community. He was the first mayor of Fort Lupton, which town his father had incorporated, and through all the intervening years the family has been actively associated with its development and progress. Emma Jane died March 15, 1915 Thomas died January 16, 1923 Both buried in Hillside Cemetery, Lupton, Weld Co.
