David Vincent Hartt was born in 1906 to Thomas Byron Hartt and his wife. As a young man, David Vincent Hartt worked in his father's General Store. Vincent liked to hunt and fish and was probably the best-dressed sportsman in New Brunswick. He wore a shirt and tie even when fishing. Like his father, he is said to have had a very dry sense of humor. On July 30, 1931, David eloped with Edna Fletcher. In 1947, after fighting a fire at Pride's Landing on the North Branch of the Oromocto river, he came home and died of a coronary thrombosis; he was only 41 years of age. At the time of his passing, he was a councilor for Sunbury County, New Brunswick. Vincent and Edna (Fletcher) Hartt had three children. Helen, Thomas, and Sandra.
