Adaline Perley was born April 16 of Blissville, NB. She married Thomas E. Hartt April, 1839. She was his lst wife. Thomas E. Hartt had an Irish 18 yr old servant girl by the name of Nancy Craig who arrived in 1840. Adaline died at age 52 July 10th 1873. Obituary of Adeline (Perley) Hartt April 10,1821 - July 10,1873 Taken from Sunbury Happenings DIED At Hartt's Mills, North Branch, Oromocto, Sunbury County, on the 16th ult., after a few months sickness, which she bore with Christian patience. Adeline Hartt, the beloved wife of Thomas Endicott Hartt , esq. age 53 years. She leaves a kind husband, three sons and one daughter and an aged mother, with many relatives and a large circle of friends to mourn their loss. Sister Hartt professed religion and was baptized about (15) years ago by the late Rev. Samuel Hartt, and united with the Free Baptist Church in this place. Her hope was firm to the end. May the grace of God sustain and comfort Bro. Hartt and the motherless children and the aged mother under their heavy affliction. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Messrs, McKenzie and Brown and Bro. Cahill (Baptist). Sermon by the author. Text. Phil 1:21 By William Brown Later in life, Thomas married Elizabeth Peabody of Lincoln on March 8, 1876. Thomas and Adaline Hartt's four children: David Wellington, 1843-1901; Edward ., 1848-1917; Alfred, 1849-1924; and Theodosia, 1861-1921.
