Miriam (Mim )Nason was born and raised in Fredericton Junction, NB. After graduation she gained employment with the Telephone Company in Fredericton Junction where she worked until she got married. In 1956 she married Ross Dillman, her first husband, and moved to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. She eventually divorced him and married Percy Dares years later in 1977. She spent 42 years in Nova Scotia before moving back to Fredericton Junction in 1998. She bought the old Byers homestead, a property once owned by Aaron Hartt, a son of the pioneer Thomas. At her interment ceremony in NS, which was attended by the local Leader of the NDP Party, Daryl Dexter, (and present Premier of NS), told Glenna that it was Miriam who had gotten him involved in NDP politics. She worked in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia for Maritime Sand and Gravel Company until retirement. She did a huge amount of volunteer work in NS after she retired, driving folks to appointments, delivering Meals On Wheels, etc. which continued after she moved back to Fredericton Junction, NB. She was a very generous and happy person!!! She loved to travel and visited many places in the world. She knitted, crocheted, read prolifically and still watched 6 soaps a day. She enjoyed genealogy and had a huge box full of family history documents. She died of Cancer in 2006. No children.
