George W. Hartt and His Wives

George Whitfield Hartt  was born, in 1787, in Kingsclear, New Brunswick.  It is thought that the parents of George Whitfield Hartt and Henry Allain Hartt were John Hartt and his wife, Anne Lovell.  However, some sources show Samuel Henry Alline Hartt and his wife, Mary, as the parents of both George and Henry.

George is listed as a tanner.

George married three times.  His first marriage was to Mary Ann Torrens.  Mary Ann died on February 5, 1816.  On October 14, 1817, George Whitfield Hartt married Lucy Ann Brown.  She died on June 5, 1850 at the age of 47.  George married for the third time on October 9, 1856.  The bride was Mrs. Isabella Cox; the daughter of John King.  The marriage took place in Fredericton in a ceremony officiated by Charles S. Purden, a Baptist, and witnessed by R. Fulton and J. F. Berton.

George died on June 27, 1859.  Isabella died on December 11, 1868.
