PURITAN CHURCH

The location of the first Puritan church in Maugerville was directly across from Burton which is on the other side of the river and about half way between Maugerville are and Sheffield area, both of which are along the Old Trans Canada Highway on the far side of the river.  The Anglican Church was located in the mid 1800’s on the original and disputed piece of land.  It was probably land set aside for the church but the official Church of England must have revailed in the War of the Grants.
